Miss Bethany started tap dancing when she was 13 years old & fell in love with all things dance. She added jazz, ballet, technique & competition classes to her dance repertoire throughout high school. After college, she started assisting a tap class and discovered hip hop dance, which she also fell in love with. She proceeded to teach tap & hip hop classes for the next 4 years and then decided to open her own studio. She is now on her 15th year of teaching.
"Owning a studio may be my career, but when you make a living doing something you love, it often-times doesn't feel like a job (except maybe all the clerical work!) I absolutely love to share my passion of dance with students and to see them fall in love with it the way I did. It brings immeasurable joy to see them grow throughout the season & for years to follow. In class I may be the instructor, but the students teach me more than they know in return."

MONICA ZAK
Jazz/Poms II & Jazz III Instructor
Certified Youth Protection Advocates In Dance Educator
Miss Monica has been teaching at BAHS since the 2014-2015 dance season. She started as the ballet teacher & has also taught jazz, lyrical, contemporary & poms over the past 8 seasons. She also taught tap, jazz & poms at Miss Allyson’s En Pointe Dance Company in Park Falls, WI from 2014 – 2017. Miss Monica has been dancing since she was 8 years old & has taken lessons in ballet, jazz, modern, tap, lyrical/contemporary, & hip hop. Since the birth of her daughter Madi in 2021, Miss Monica has “cut back” the number of classes she now teaches & very much enjoys being able to teach the Intermediate Jazz & Poms & Advanced Jazz classes. “I love the upbeat tempo of jazz combined with the technique of ballet! Poms is also a very fun class to teach!” When she is not spending time with her family or dancing, Miss Monica works full time as a social worker for Community Mental Health.
“I love teaching at BAHS, & I’m thankful for all the people I’ve gotten to know through dance over the years. I hope to always be a positive influence on all my students, & my goal is to make sure that everyone leaves every class with a smile! The best part of teaching has been being able to watch all the dancers grow their confidence, not only on stage, but in all aspects of their lives. That has definitely been the most rewarding part of teaching here over the past 8 years. I’m looking forward to season 11 & seeing everyone’s smiling faces at the studio!”

CHRISTINA WANGELIN
Jazz/Poms I, Ballet/Lyrical II & Adult Ballet/Lyrical Instructor
Miss Christina joined the BAHS family as an instructor in 2020 and is continuing with her third year of teaching this season. She has 16 years of dance experience and background in tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, hip-hop, and pointe. The majority of her training is in ballet which has been her favorite dance genre since she started at 5 years old. Aside from dance, Miss Christina has 10+ years of experience working with kids and works as a kindergarten teacher in Ironwood Area Schools.
“I always enjoy working with kids because it is so exciting to watch them grow and fall in love with dance, just as I did when I first started. Getting the opportunity to bring dance pieces alive through our talented students is always the the highlight of my year. Dance is constantly bringing me closer to people, building my confidence, and providing me an expressive and artistic outlet; I hope to share these same sentiments with those I teach! The BAHS family has been so welcoming to me and I am grateful to be a part of our incredible dancer’s lives and vice versa! Season 11…here we go!"
